Figure 2-8.

  • Adding an axis for current = 0 and an axis for voltage = 0 might help.

  • In the Legend for curve 1 and curve 2 , change composite to composite (sum).

3 70 Figure 3-10 is missing an explanation. In the left figure, SPICE (lower line) and IBIS (upper line) match almost exactly. In the right figure, SPICE/IBIS (upper line) and test data (lower line) do not match.
72 Table 3-4. Add units to variable names. This would help the novice in semiconductor modeling.
73 Variables NDB, NAE, WE, and WB are the modern SPICE notation but previously had the DB, AE, E and B subscripted respectively.
79 The variable in has the units of Amps. The frequency variables f and df are in units of Hertz.
82 Equation 3-20. Future editions might include worked out examples of computing BF and other parameters. Plus a discussion of ranges on variables.
84 Equation 3-21. The letters of the parameters of the equations are sometimes overlapping. Click for improved version.
4   Additional commentary that SPICE, IBIS and S-Parameters are compatible. They are only different views of the same thing.
6 160 Table 6-5. BiCMOS might be an alternative example to ALVT.
163 Figure 6-3. IN1 is not an input. Change to a resistor symbol with connection to ground to eliminate confusion.
10 304 Figures 10-11 and 10-9.
  • Redraw Figure 10-11. The legends for typical, minimum and maximum are the same color black. The figure used different colors originally.

  • Figure 10-11 and Figure 10-9 call out the same type of component and I-V curves, but they are not the same curves.

305 Equation 10-4. Incorrect Ohm's law. Change Zout = I/E = 0.64/23 = 23 ohms to Zout = E/I = 0.64/23 mA = 28 ohms
19 560 Figure 19-1.
  • Missing capacitor symbol, -||- , for Cc.
The label, Cc, is shown next to the place where the capacitor symbol, -||- , should also be in the Common Emitter (CE) circuit.

  • There is no emitter capacitor across Ze. Ze is the unbypassed emitter impedance. This should be explained in the text.

22 652 Equation 22-5. Typo in the square root. The equal sign  =  should be a plus sign +.  Change (R=jwL) to (R+jwL)

Typographic corrections

Chap Pg Clarification
2 16 Reference to Figure 2.1. Figure 2.1 appears on page 19.
32 Equation 2-6. The word where appears three times, which makes the sentence a bit awkward.
35 SI is an abbreviation for signal integrity, and PI for power integrity.
3 50 Referenced equations (3-23 to 3-26) appear on page 89.
92 Table 3-9. Typo. Change between EIA an NEMA. to between EIA and NEMA. .
4 102 First bullet notation, typo. Change circuit bocks) to circuit blocks).
104
  • Top of page, Variables Vi and Ii should have the lower case i be a subscript to
match the way it is written in equations 4-6 and 4-7.

  • First paragraph, second sentence, the variable Zi should have the lower case i
be a subscript to match the way it is written in equation 4-7.

105 Table 4-5. The column with the heading Definition needs to be wider. The last letter n was letter wrapped to the second line. The column with the heading Description looks
like it can be shortened without causing any word or letter line wrap.
6 164 Figures 6-4 and 6-5. The manufacturer Philips should be spelled with only one l (not two).
8 204 Figure 8-3. The visibility of symbols should be improved. Click here for a larger image.
227 In Table 8-9 delta8, the 8 should not be subscripted.
236 First paragraph. Typo. Missing the y in ways.
Change from system constraints, there are various was to physically implement
to from system constraints, there are various ways to physically implement
9 255 First paragraph.
Figure 9-4 should be Figure 9-3.
10 279 Third paragraph. Typo.
Change behind a comment character "|."  to behind a comment character "|".

The period . is within the quotation marks of the pipe | and gives the incorrect impression that to have a comment, a period is needed with the pipe.

280 - 281 Table 10-2.
  • In [Bandwidth], the sentence is missing a period after coupling in
coupling Yes, if Banded_matrix matrices used.

  • Several sentences in the Description column should have periods.

  • Some [Keywords] have extra spaces that should not be included.

289 Table 10-7. Missing periods in Description of [Temperature Range] and the last sentence of Table Note B.
291 Table 10-8. Missing period in last sentence in column with the heading, Required?
310 Paragraphs 3 and 4, ISO 9000 is written with two different font sizes. Correct them for consistency.
313 First bullet. Sentence is missing the period at the end.
11 332 Footnote 4. Last sentence is missing the period at the end.
340 Figure 11-24. Missing horizontal dotted line to go below the dotted line of 0 volts.
347 First paragraph, end of last sentence. The into the 50+ has the plus sign +  superscripted. The plus does not need to be superscripted.
352 Table 11-5. Third sentence in last description has typo.
Change voltage some units will turn of  to voltage some units will turn off.
353 Table 11-6. Last sentence in last description is missing a period.
12 364 Footnote 2. Last sentence is missing a period.
378 Table 12-2. Numerous sentences are missing periods.
383 Table 12-5. Some sentences are missing periods.
15 457 Top of page, first sentence. Missing word to.
Change design process would be impossible implement. to design process would be impossible to implement.
468 Double hyphens. Change to dash
Change For characterization and control only--do not test to For characterization and control only–do not test
470 Second paragraph of section 15.3.1. Should be browser window.
Change of a file browse window in their graphical to of a file browser window in their graphical
473 Missing period at end of sentence in first paragraph.
Change almost universal testing activity The automatic forwarding to almost universal testing activity. The automatic forwarding.
16 503 Second paragraph, typo. Change period after typ to a comma.
Change in the three corners (typ. min, max). to in the three corners (typ, min, max).
509 Fifth paragraph. The use of determinates should be determines.
Change First, one determinates the conditions to be to First, one determines the conditions to be
18 546 Second paragraph. Add space between 2% and correlations.
Change achieving +/-2%correlations lies with to achieving +/-2% correlations lies with
22 678 Table 22-17. The acronyms in the Topology Scale column should be separated by commas.
23 689 Definition of K. The upper case letter K should be lower case k, same as in equation 23-1. Change K =  to k =
